Laker's Grammy Trip

Every year, the Lakers go on an extensive road trip which we have come to call, "The Grammy Road Trip'. Since the Grammys are hosted in Los Angeles and at the Staples Center, this year the Lakers Grammy trip would consist of 6 road games in 9 days.

As of today, the Lakers are 12-2 at home, the majority of their losses have come on the road. That is what made this 6 game road trip a little more interesting. This would be a chance for the Lakers to shed the road woe's. On this trip the Lakers would play: Denver, Utah, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, and Toronto.

How did the Lakers measure up? Well they finished the road trip 3-3, with wins against: Denver, Boston, and Toronto. The Denver win, and the OT win against Boston were quite impressive, but the Toronto win and the 3 losses showed some already well known weaknesses from the Laker squad.

Lou Williams drains a 3 to go up against the Lakers Night
The Lakers lost a 3rd quarter lead to Utah, along with Mike Brown being ejected, which ultimately led to them blowing the game and losing it in the 4th. The same thing happened with Philly, had a pretty consistent lead all game until they allowed Lou Williams to score 7 straight in the fourth to come through with a win; as well as ruin a night where Kobe passed Shaq for 5th on the all time scoring list. The loss to the Knicks caused all sorts of "Lin-Sanity", in a game in which the lakers seemed to have no chance. Oh and in case you didn't know already, Jeremy Lin dropped 38 and 7 on them!

Jeremy Lin Drives the Lane, finishing the night with 38 pts
What do these 3 losses, and the Laker win vs Toronto have in Common? Well the Lakers in all four of those games blew leads, but most importantly, they absolutely could not stop point guard productions from the other team. Earl Watson...yes folks...EARL WATSON...went for 8 points and 11 assist (he hit some crucial buckets towards the end of the 4th). Jeremy Lin drops 38 points (career high) and 7 assist on the Lakers; making it look easy. Jose Calderon Drops 30 points (career high) and 6 assist. The Lakers just can't seem to stop point guards! That is the key to getting going against the Lakers.

The Lakers need a more stable point guard. Doesn't have to be a superstar lock down defender, but needs to be quick enough to stay in front of his man. As well, he needs to be able to create a shot off the dribble, as well as be a threat driving the lane. Once the Lakers get that it will make the flow of their offense a lot smoother. It will also take some of the work load off of Kobe. Now I'm not one of those guys who's saying get rid of Fish and all that other stuff. I respect what he does, and that is hit big shots and make clutch plays. For the majority of the game though, id rather see a younger more  consistent guard out there.

Super Bowl Sunday

It's here, the biggest sporting day of the year, Super Bowl Sunday! Two unbelievable quarterbacks will be taking the field today. I feel as if we're guaranteed to have a great game. The Giants are the favorite to win today. On paper, everyone feels like they have the match up advantage. I can't complain: Eli is an assassin (I've always given that man credit, way before this season), The receiving core is explosive, and that running game won't be easily stopped. There is only one thing, they are playing TOM BRADY and BILL BELICHICK! The fact that the Pats are looked at as an underdog is what really tabs me feeling confident about this squad. Brady loves to have his back to the wall. I don't want to harp too much on the whole "revenge" thing, but Belichck isn't going to lose to Coughlin twice. I'm predicting Pats 28-Giants 20. We'll see what happens though.

P.S. With the recent cut of Tiquan Underwood ( damn, how do you get cut the day before the big game) look out for Chad OchoCinco to possibly make a mark in the game hopefully trying to resurrect his career. If it happens, remember where u heard it first. If he stinks up the place like he has all season, I'll probably just delete this part of the post. Ha Ha! Enjoy the festivities.

Civil War In Los Angeles.

December 8th, 2011...

I'm listening to ESPN Radio AM 710 when word breaks out that negotiations are being made for Chris Paul to be traded to the Lakers. This day happened to be my birthday, and let me tell you, it was looking to be one of the best presents I could ever do. I was beyond excited: Kobe, CP3, and Bynum? I just knew we had received our missing piece.

I took a nap that day, after 2 hours I woke up and dreams were shattered. I look up at Sports Center and word on the street is David Stern stepped in a pulled out on the deal. I was in shock! To be honest, I was sick to my stomach! How did this happen ? The trade was fair for every team involved? Was this some kind of sick attack at the Leagues most glorified franchise? In a matter of hours Los Angeles Laker fans had experienced the best of times, and the worst of times.

The only thing worse than losing CP3 is the fact that he was sent to the Los Angeles Clippers in a deal that seemed futile compared to what the Hornets would have received in the original deal. Seriously, David Stern? You pull back on our deal and send Chris Paul to the JV Los Angeles team? It is more than obvious what Chris Paul has done for the Clippers. As a Laker fan, I am beyond bitter about it! As people do with everything else, the Lob City hype has taken over. People are now questioning who's town it is. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. The Clippers haven't won shit ! NO SHIPS ! NONE! Lets say they do win this year, do you know how many they have to win to even break even with the Lakers?   I realize this is good for basketball, as well, it is good for the city of Los Angeles; but as a Laker fan, I can't help but hate it. The lines have been drawn in the city of Los Angeles, only time will tell who wins the war.

P.S. David Stern, we hate you!

Sincerely,
Laker Fans Across the Globe

TOo Late for TO ?

I know we haven't been posting for a while; ill save the excuses and just get back to doing what we do best.

You guys hear about TO ? The guy holds a work out and NOT ONE NFL scout shows up ? Come on guys, you aren't all out there in playoff position. I know for a fact some of you teams desperately need him. Forget all that team cancer stuff, the old man can play.

Steve...Why so serious?

I'm going to take the time out to speak on the worlds most famous caddy right now, Steve Williams. Adam Scott's recent win gave his new caddy, Steve Williams, all the ammunition he needed to get the public's attention and of course take a subliminal shot at Tiger Woods. Why they interviewed Scott, who knows? I blame the interviewer just as much as I blame Steve to be honest. Ultimately Steve Williams made himself look like fool. He talked about his "nervousness", and how it was  "the best win he ever had"; C'mon Son, you're a caddy ! Get out of here with that bitter non-sense. Tiger made you the highest paid caddy EVER. With him you also were apart of one of the most dominant era's in sports, period! Now you want to come out and say this little punk ass win is the best one of your career? Shut up and hand somebody a 9 iron.

P.S.

Please believe and check the archives, your boys here and the Real deal called it. We said month's ago that the Miami heat weren't winning the ship'. Quote me !

WE'RE BACK

I know we've been on a hiatus, but we're back and ready to go hard as ever! FOOTBALL's BACK (*Rick Ross voice*) and so are we.

Shout out to Prime Time for being inducted to the NFL Hall of Fame. He had one of the best speeches ever too.
